In this type of power-sharing arrangement, different organs of government, placed at the same level, exercised different powers. Such a separation ensures that none of the organs can exercise unlimited power, thereby putting a check on each other.
A federal government is a system of dividing up power between a central national government and local state governments that are connected to one another by the national government
When the power in a country is divided into the Central and the State government, it is called a federal division of power.
