Answer:

The relationship between Mrs. Das and Mr. Kapasi is simply a tourist and a tourist guide like any other. When Mrs. Das learned about Mr. Kapasi’s job as an interpreter, she begins to show interest in his job that Mr. Kapasi took it as a romantic interest and built a warm image of her in his thoughts. She only felt comfortable with him because, to her, his job as an interpreter meant that he could help cure any pain, so she shared her deep secret with him thinking that he can help her discomfort to her situation with her husband and children, not willing to accept the guilt of her own actions.

The wholesome relationship Mr. Kapasi had pictured with Mrs. Das evaporated as soon as he learned more about Mrs. Das’s nature and realized that she saw him only as an interpreter, rather than someone with special potential for a new relationship.
