Meristematic tissues the one which has rapid cell division and helps mainly in the growth of the plant.

There are 3 types of meristematic tissues

1) Apical meristem - Present near the apical regionor tip of the plant and mainly helps in the vertical growth of the plant- height.

2) Intercalary meristem -. Present in the Intercalary growth. helps in inter nodal growth- vertical growth.

3) Lateral meristem - Present on the lateral sides of the plant, helps in increasing the width of the stem - Horizontal growth.
