Ans:- Given:-

p(x) = x² + ax -22 and 2x² + 3x -a

g(x) = x - 4

To find value of a

Solution:-

=> x - 4 = 0

=> x = 4

now, put the value of x in p(x) we get,

=> p(4) = (4)² + a(4) - 22 = 0

=> p(4) = 16 + 4a - 22 = 0

=> p(4) = 4a - 6 = 0 ----------- (1)

now, put the value of x in p(x) again, we get,

=> p(4) = 2(4)² + 3(4) - a = 0

=> p(4) = 32 + 12 - a = 0

=> p(4) = 44 - a = 0 ------------ (2)

now, from (1) and (2) we get

=> 4a - 6 = 44 - a (since both are equal to 0)

=> 4a + a = 50

=> 5a = 50

=> a = 10

here is your answer

hope it will help you
