Different types of houses are constructed in different regions due to different climatic conditions.

• We build and stay in houses to protect ourselves from heat, rain, storm, dust etc.
• Houses are constructed in different ways in different regions depending on the climate of the area.
• Types of Houses found in different regions are-

1. Cold region- Igloos, Wooden Houses
2. Hot and humid region- Mud/ clay house, brick house
3. Hot and wet region- Huts

• Other than climatic conditions factors that determine the type of house in a region are- building and construction technology, location and site, economy and cultural and social- factors.
• Hence, these are some of the reasons that influence the construction of houses in a region.
