(b) Find the equation of the line passing through the intersection of
2x + 5y - 4 = 0 with X- axis and parallel to the line 3x - 7y + 8 = 0.​

Answer:

2x+5y-4=0 .....(i)

3x-7y+8=0 .....(ii)

acc.to ques :- line intersects in x axis.

therefore, y=0

putting value of y in eqn (i),

2x+5(0)-4=0

x=2

therefore point of intersection is (2,0)

now, from eqn (ii)

3x-7y+8=0

7y=3x+8

y=(3/7)x+8/7

on comparing with y=mx+c

m1 = 3/7.

since it's parallel to the line we need

m1=m2

m2=3/7

.now find the eqn with point slope form

you will get answer 3x - 7y = 6
