The answer is k=9/2 or 4.5

step by step answer:

D= 0 when roots of the quadratic equation are real and equal.

a=2

b=-6

c=k

D=b²-4ac = 0

(-6)²-4*2*k = 0

36-8k=0

-8k = -36

k=36/8

k=9/2

or

k=4.5
