the smaller the measuring device the more it would be precise.  it should contain more minute divisions to measure precisely. the meter scales would have cm divisions between them but cm scales would have mm divisions between them. hence Pranav measured it precisely.

Everyone can get different measurements by using half-metre-long thread , hand span ,5-metre-long measuring tape as it depends but scale will be same in all conditions so 15-centimetre-long scale used by pranav is the best option and has most accuracy.
