Answer:

1. Tropical rain forests are called 'evergreen' forests.

Answer: The tropical rainforests always appear green as their trees never shed their leaves at any time of the year, the way tress of Deciduous forests do. Therefore they are called an evergreen forest.

2. Tropical deciduous trees are bare of leaves for some months of a year.

Answer: Tropical deciduous forests shed their leaves for about six to eight weeks in summer. As this is a hot-dry season, the leaves get dry due to high temperature and deficiency of moisture causing these trees to shed their leaves.

3. Mountains do not have a uniform kind of vegetation.

Asnwer: Mountainous Vegetation is not uniform due to the following reasons. ... Mountain vegetation is located in higher altitudes (highs) on the mountains. This kind of vegetation varies according to altitude variability and rise. If the height increases the temperature decreases.

4. Many trees and plants found in Thorn Forests have small leaves.

Answer: Thorn forests are mostly found in dry regions like cold or hot deserts. In such regions water is scarce and heat is scorching. ... Thorns or short leaves- they have leaves that are very small and some leaves have turned themselves into thorns to prevent loss of water by the process of transpiration.

5. National parks and wildlife sanctuaries have been established in India.

Answer: Forests was there govt just imposed some rules & restrictions in order to protect wildlife & trees . Had these steps are not been taken Indian forests would have become history by now. At least in parts of our country projects taken under National Park helped increasing forest area , protected many endangered species ( say Vulture ) . Before these rules are implemented we have lost many species ( like Cheeta) for ever. Though current measures are not enough , stricter laws are required to protect our nature.
