The poet was sitting under a hemlock tree from which a crow flew out shaking the tree and making the snow fall on the poet.
Poet was sad on that day but eventuallyit uplifted after the incident.
Some part of the day was still left as it was not fully dusk and the next day had still time to come. and the symbol of sadness helped him to relieve his stress.
