(b) How are the following affected in the potentiometer circuit when the internal
resistance of the driver cell increases and (ii) the series resistor connected to in
driver cell is reduced? Justify your answer.

The range of voltage will be reduced.

Explanation:

If you apply voltage divider rule, it is clear that the maximum voltage would be across the resistor with higher resistance, if connected in series. So by decreasing the resistance of series resistor and increasing the internal resistance, while keeping the net resistance constant, less voltage will be accumulated across the series resistor. It means that the difference between the driver cell voltage and maximum output voltage from the series resistor will increase.
