Cooking utensils are made of metals so that heat can easily get transferred.  Refrigerator coils are made of copper so as to conduct away the heat.  The handles of cooking utensils are made of bad conductors of heat, such as wood or ebonite. They do not get heated and can be held comfortably.

i) The substances which allow The heat to flow through them are called good conductors of heat.
The substances which do not allow the heat to flow through them are called bad conductors of heat.
ii) For good conductors eg:- steel , iron etc. cooking utensils are made up of steel because they allowed the heat to flow through them.
For bad conductors example wood etc.
Some wooden spatula are made up of wood so that they wouldn’t get heated up during the cooking period.
