Explanation:
People without Disabilities really are lucky people. We often wonder, “What if I had this?”, or “What if I had that?”. We do not wait for a second to consider that, the things that we take for granted, there are people who struggle because they are deprived of, either from birth or due to some cruel incident. The science in our age has grown by a lot, they have progressed far beyond the realms of imagination. We now are able to provide disabled people with rehabilitative technology that will make their lives much better and reduce the impact of their disabilities.
Adaptive Technology is the gift of modern engineering which helps people with disabilities perform tasks that were previously impossible for them. Most of these technologies run on replaceable batteries or chargeable devices. These assistive devices are made keeping in mind to provide comfort to those people. They are made to be affordable, efficient, and cater to the needs of every individual person who will use that device. These technologies for the disabled make them more independent and are able to perform the little tasks easily. So, let us not waste time and learn about some of the assistive devices that are being used by people with special needs.
Adaptive technologies that improve the comfort of home -
In the past few years, we have seen the rise of home assistants which almost acts like our own personal assistant. They perform several tasks making appointments, playing your favorite music, suggest your movies, and answer your basic questions like weather and news. Amazon Echo and Google Home are some of the technologies that make the use of their home, computer, and mobile much easier.
There are Environment Control Devices that act on voice control which help the physically disabled people to control electronic devices like home lights, air conditioners, heaters, and electrically controlled doors.
Another device that has come as a boon to both the disabled people and the cleaning obsessed moms at our homes. Now some robots clean the floors of your home by themselves without drawing any kind of attention.
There is a technology for disabled people which improves their mobility like electric-powered wheelchairs, crutches, scooters, and walkers help those people to move around without the help of anyone else. They become self-dependent.
