for triangle is 180⁰

Now,

Sum of all angles in the given isosceles triangle is;

A + A + 40⁰ = 180⁰

2A = 180⁰ - 40⁰

2A = 140⁰

A = 70⁰

Hence, The base angle of the triangle is 70⁰
