(b) In the figure (ii) given below, OAB is a quadrant of a circle. The radius
OA = 7 cm and OD = 4 cm. Calculate the area of the shaded portion.​

Answer:

To find the area we have tu use this formula

Area = r × 1/4

= 7× 1/4

=7/4

1.75 cm ^2

Area of triangle = 1/2 × 7×4

=28/2

=14 cm ^2

Therefore area of the shaded part

Area of quadrant OAB - Area of triangle OAD

= 1.75-14

= 12.25 cm ^2
