b) Mrs. Sharma exchanged Rs 5,600 into the number of 10 rupee, 20 rupee and
50 rupee notes in the ratio of 5 : 4 : 3 at a bank for Dashain Tika, find the
numbers of each type of
rupee notes.​

Let the number of each type of rupee notes

= 5x:4x:3x

Value of 10 rupee notes=10×5x=50x

Value of 20 rupee notes=20×4x=80x

Value of 50 rupee notes = 50×3x=150x

A/Q,

= 50x+80x+150x=5600

=280x=5600

x=5600/280=20.

Hence, Number of 10 rupee notes=5×20=100

Number of 20 rupee notes=4×20=80

And, No of 50 rupee notes=3×20=60

Verification:-

Number of 10 rupee notes=100×10=1000

No of 20 rupee notes=80×20=1600

No of 50 rupee notes=60×50=3000

Add =1000+1600+3000= 5600.
