First the cell increases in size ,replicates its genetic material , cytoplasm becomes more denser etc .

It is kind of preparatory phase where it is preparing itself for the asexual reproduction .

Then the genetic material starts dividing (Karyokinesis ) .

The division of genetic material is followed by division of cytoplasm (Cytokinesis ).

Finally the constriction appears and we get two identical daughter cells .
