Basketful of Moonlight

O moon,
give me moonlight,
O moon
basketful or two baskets full,
give me a basketful of moonlight
with seeds of moonlight.

From the city to my village,
I want to light the dark route
on the sides of the path
so that my father returns early.
I want to sow many,
I too want to hear fairy tales
small, small moons of light.

The whole village goes to the city

daily to work.

i wish there was no day but just moon and night. i sit all day waiting for moon to shine. at night even when i close eyes i see moon. so i open eyes and start to count stars so that i dont fall asleep again.
