If the conductor moves perpendicular to the field that is in upward direction then maximum force will be experienced .
(F=BILsin angle A),where angle A is the angle between current carrying conductor and field
The direction of the induced current can be found by Fleming's right hand rule .The direction is found to be into the plane of paper. However , if the conductor XY moves perpendicular to the field but in downward direction then also induced current will be produced and its direction is found to be towards us.
In this case angle A =90° , so
F=BIL × sin90°=BIL.(maximum force) (sin90=1)
But if the conductor moves parallel to the magnetic field than no force will be experienced.
In this case , angle A = BIL ×sin0°=0(no force). (sin0°=0)
hope it helps mate ;")
