B. Rewrite the passage given below using the past tense of the verbs given in the brackets.
A brave boy (name) Ajay (wander) into a dense jungle full of huge trees. He (come) across a snake. He
(can) not move and (stand) still in fear. Luckily, the snake (slither) away. Ajay (heave) a sign of relief and
(thank) God. He (walk) further and then he (see) the trunk of an elephant on the ground that (move) like
a huge python. The sight (hold) him spellbound. He (walk) ahead. The animal (be) (stuck) in a hole. Ajay
(stretch) out his hand and (touch) the trunk. The animal (move) its trunk from side to side. Ajay (examine)
the hole. It was deep. The animal (raise) its trunk and (plead) for help. There were some bamboo sticks

THANKED God. He WALKED further and then he SAW the trunk of an elephant on the ground that MOVING like

a huge python. The sight HELD him spellbound. He WALKED ahead. The animal WAS STUCK in a hole. Ajay

STRETCHED out his hand and TOUCHED the trunk. The animal MOVED its trunk from side to side. Ajay EXAMINED

the hole. It was deep. The animal RAISED its trunk and PLEADED for help. There were some bamboo sticks

nearby. He DUG a sloping path for the elephant with the sticks. The elephant SHUFFLED from one foot to

another and slowly CAME out of the hole. The operation TOOK an hour and a half.​
