(b)Rose was making tea. After mixing all the contents she kept it on the gas stove. When the
content started boiling she kept a thermometer in the mixture to read the temperature. She
found that the temperature did not increase at although she kept on heating it and the
mixture was boiling. Explain her observation.

It was because of the phenomenon of latent heat (or hidden heat). The latent heat is the heat which boils as well as helps to break bonds present between atoms of a state of matter and also increase their kinetic energy so that the can change from their current state to the another more energetic state e.g.: solid to liquid or liquid to gas.
