Answer:

Given:-

He got 60 marks out of 80 in Test 1

Got 70 marks out of 80 in Test 2

First we've to find the % in each test

that is

Test 1:-

He got 60 out of 80

find what % of 80 is 60

by using

 \frac{60}{80} \times 100 \\ \frac{6}{8} \times 100 \\ \frac{3}{4} \times 100 \\ \frac{300}{4} \\ = 75

therefore he scored 75% mark in the first test

Test 2:-

He got 70 out of 80

find what % of 80 is 70

by using

 \frac{70}{80} \times 100 \\ \frac{7}{8} \times 100 \\ \frac{700}{8} \\ = 87.50

that's his score in the second test is 87.50%

find the difference of both tests

that is

Test 2 - Test 1

87.50-75

=12.50

therefore his mark was increased by 12.5%

hope it helps
