1) their ph is greater than 7. Bitter in taste. slippery in feel.Turns red litmus blue

2) phenophthalein and methyl orange are examples of two synthetic or man made acid base indicators.

3) neutralization is reaction of acid with base to form salt and water

EG: NaOH + HCl gives rise to NaCl and H2O

4) antacids are medicines which neutralize acid in stomach.They contain ingredients like sodium, potassium, calcium, aluminium etc

5) basic soil is treated by adding acidic substances to it. this helps neutralize the soil.
