It was a quiet night, quieter than any other night he had heard. Crickets weren't chirping, birds not singing in their clear voice, nothing was heard.
But a hunter was out in the dense forest, endeavoring to find a game to bring home. He had been out for about an hour, searching for any beast, big or small. He was exhausted, on the brink of giving up, when, something moved.
He steadied his gun and moved stealthier, quietly so as to not give him away.
The beast was a bear, hunting as well. The hunter pointed his gun to the beast. For a split second, nothing happened. Then a loud bang and a growl resonated across the silent town.
