  1. Single Citizenship means a person is a citizen of India only and not of therespective states whereas dual citizenshipmeans being a citizen of two or more countries.
  2. As a welfare State, India is committed to the welfare and development of its people, particularly the vulnerable sections like the scheduled castes (SCs), scheduled tribes (STs), backward classes, minorities and the handicapped. This section of the society constitutes nearly 85% of the population.
  3. In simple terms, economic equality is about a level playing field where everyone has the same access to the same wealth. And not all wealthy people got what they have through hard work. Lots of women's groups, including YWCA Canada, believe there should be economic equalitybetween men and women.
  4. Our constitution tells us that all our equal before the law means citizen are procted by law. Every citizen has right to vote and each citizen have one vote and every vote has equal value. Every citizen of India have Right to vote no matter from which caste, Creed,sex he or she belongs.
  5. Some rights need to be placed higher than the government for the following reasons: (i)So that the government cannot violate them. (ii)Sometimes elected governmentsmay not protect or may even attack therights of their own citizens.
  6. The Directive Principles of States Policythough not enforceable through court of law are regarded as “fundamental in the governance of the country”. They are merely instructions or directives issued to the Legislatures and the Executives or the day-to-day administration of the country.
