Interaction between the two genders reduces awkwardness and makes them comfortable with each other, thus developing well-rounded and mature personalities. This in turn helps end social evils like the age-old practice of dowry and also reduces crime against women. The role of teachers and parents is crucial, especially in the formative years, to maintain a healthy balance between the co-educational environment and moral values.
