Answer:

Given = power to half = 100watt

            output power = 40watt

to find =

      i) What is the rectification efficiency?

      ii) What happens to remaining 60 watts

solution =

rectification efficiency

= D.C output power / A.C input power x 100

= 40 /100 x 100

= 40%

power efficiency

= D.C output power / A.C input power for half cycle

= 40 /(100 /2) x 100

= 80%

the rectification efficiency is 40%

remaining 60 watts is involved in 80%
