b.

Let a,b,c,d,e be the runs scored by the batsman in 1,2,3,4,5 matches respectively..

So the average score by the batsman in 5 matches = a+b+c+d+e / 5 = 85

Given that : his average score in first four matches is 87

So the average score by the batsman is a+b+c+d / 4 = 87

Substitute a+b+c+d = 87 * 4 in a+b+c+d+e = 85 * 5

a+b+c+d = 348  and  a+b+c+d+e = 425

So 348+e = 425

Therefore, e=425 - 348 = 77

So the batsman's score in fifth match was 77

c.

Given:

That Manjit had bought 5 dozens banana for x rupees.

1 dozen = 12 bananas

He sold a dozen at rupees 45. He sold all 5 dozens (total cost  =  45 * 5 = 225 ) and got a profit rupees 75 totally.

So to find the total cost he bought subtract the profit from how much he sold..

Therefore, 225 - 75 = 150

So Manjit bought the 5 dozens for rupees 150

He got a profit of rupees 15 in each dozen..

i.e., 15 * 5 = 75 rupees (hence verified)
