It is given that angleABC is a right angle

AC=17cm and BC=8cm

by using pythagoras theorem

17×17-8×8=AB square

289-64=AB square

225=AB square

15×15= AB square

therefore

15 square =AB square

Square square cut each other

therefore lenght if AB= 15

pythagoras Theorem is used to solve this question
