Answer :

  • Length of a rectangular field is 50m
  • Breadth of a rectangular field is 25m

Given :

  • The length of a rectangular field is two times of its breadth
  • Perimeter of the field is 150m

To find :

  • Length and breadth

Solution :

Given,

  • The length of a rectangular field is two times of its breadth so,

  • Let the length of a rectangular be 2x
  • Let the breadth be x

and also Given,

  • Perimeter of a rectangular field is 150m

We know that

  • Perimeter of a rectangular field = 2(l + b)

Where,

  • l is length of a rectangular field
  • b is breadth of a rectangular field

→ Perimeter of a rectangular field = 2(l + b)

→ 150 = 2(2x + x)

→ 150 = 2(3x)

→ 150 = 6x

→ 6x = 150

→ x = 150/6

→ x = 25m

Finding the length and breadth of a rectangular field :

→ Length = 2x

→ Length = 2(25)

→ Length = 50m

Length of a rectangular field is 50m

→ Breadth = x

→ Breadth = 25m

Breadth of a rectangular field is 25m

Verification :

→ Perimeter of a rectangular field = 2(l + b)

→ 150 = 2(50 + 25)

→ 150 = 2(75)

150 = 150
