Answer:

Side of square = 15m

Perimeter of square = 4×side

= 4×15

= 60m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

= 60m

(i) length of rectangle = 18m

breadth of rectangle = 2(18+b) = 60

60÷2 = 18+b

30 = 18+b

b = 30-18

= 12m

Area of rectangle = l×b

= 12×18

= 216m²

(ii) Area of square = side×side

= 15×15

= 225m²

\large\sf\underline{Given\::}

  • Perimeter of square field = Perimeter of rectangular field

  • One side of rectangular field = 18 m

  • One side of square field = 15 m

\large\sf\underline{To\:find\::}

  • Area of rectangular field

  • Total area of both the fields

\large\sf\underline{Formula\:to\:be\:used\::}

  • Area of square = \sf\:(side) ^{2}

  • Area of rectangle = \sf\:length \times breadth

  • Perimeter of square = \sf\:4 \times side

  • Perimeter of rectangle = \sf\:2(l+b)

\large\sf\underline{Solution\::}

\sf\:Perimeter\:of\:square\:=\:4 \times 15

\sf\dashrightarrow\:Perimeter\:of\:square\:=\:60\:m

\sf\dashrightarrow\:Perimeter\:of\:rectangular\:field\:=\:2(18+b)

According to the question :

Perimeter of square field = Perimeter of rectangular field

  • Substituting the values we got

\sf\to\:60=2(18+b)

\sf\to\:60=36+2b

  • Transposing 36 to the other side

\sf\to\:60-36=2b

\sf\to\:24=2b

  • Transposing 2 to the other side

\sf\to\:\cancel{\frac{24}{2}}=b

\sf\to\:b\:=\:12\:m

So now let's find the area of square and rectangular field :

\sf\:Area\:of\:square\:=\:15^{2}

\sf\:Area\:of\:square\:=\:225\:sq.m{\sf{{\pink{★}}}}

\sf\:Area\:of\:rectangular\:field\:=\:18 \times 12

\sf\:Area\:of\:rectangular\:field\:=\:216\:sq.m{\sf{{\pink{★}}}}

\sf\:Total\:area\:=Area\:of\:(square+rectangle)

\sf\leadsto\:Total\:area\:=225+216

\small\fbox\red{Total\:area\:=\:441\:sq.m} {\sf{{\pink{★}}}}
