after fertilization the sepals, petals, stamens, style, stigma wither away and falls off.. the ovary enlarges and becomes a fruit.. in certain cases the sepals may persist in a shrivelled form as in tomato, peas, or may also become fleshy same as the case in eggplant . ovary wall becomes fruit wall.. ovule becomes seed..
