Neutralisation reaction or neutralisation refers to the reaction between an acid and a base to give salt and water.

The basic equation of a neutralisation reaction is as follows:

Acid + Base ---> Salt + Water

Ex.-

HCl + NaOH --> H2O + NaCl

H2SO4 + KOH --> H2O + K2SO4
