While E is a definite quantity, q and w are not  definite properties.

A definite quantity is a specific measure of the amount or quantity of a particular element. It is the numeric value or absolute value of something that is quantifiable.

Energy is an intrinsic property of the system, a state function. Its value does not depend on the path of the process taking place. Therefore it is categorised under a definite quantity.

However, heat (q) and work (w) are not system properties. They follow a particular path of the process and are dependent on it. Therefore they are path functions and hence known as indefinite quantities.
