that's because non green plant doesn't have chlorophyll in there leaves which break downs carbon dioxide and water molecules thus do not produce glucose (food).

Non-green plants is nothing but there is no Chlorophyll pigment in those plants.

Plants prepare the food by the process of Photosynthesis.

\orange\Rightarrow Chlorophyll is required to continue the process.

Thus, of there is no chlorophyll the Photosynthesis will won't occur.

So, nom-green plants can not make their own food. It depends on the other plants.

Xtra points:

The plants which can make their own food are called aa Heterotropes.

Plants which depend on other plants for food are called as Autotropes.
