Here Soil A is basic in nature and soil B is acidic in nature. Thus, soil A should be used to treat with chalk powder which is basic in nature to neutralize and to make the soil more fertile

1.Calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide and calcium carbonate all three are alkaline or basic in nature and these are used by farmers in their fields if they find the soil to be acidic in nature having more of chloride or sulphate ions to neutralize the effect of these ions and to increase the fertility of the soil.

2.Toothpaste is alkaline in nature. The action of bacteria occurs in acidic medium in the mouth and hence toothpaste neutralises the acid and doesn't allow tooth decay to occur.Nov 11, 2017
