In solids, the intermolecular force of attraction is very high. so the particles are held tightly in position. Whereas, in liquids the intermolecular force of attraction is somewhat less than solids.when you heat something, the molecules in the solid/liquid acquire kinetic energy…which infact give motion to it. this collides with walls of container and hence excert pressure and can cause heat. so when you heat, less amount of heat can free the molecules in liquids than solids and hence they heat faster.
