Subject: Plight of slum people in Delhi
Sir:
I am writing to your kind self to express my concern and anguish over slums in Delhi. Some of the slums are in the plush areas. It really makes one feel so sad to see the rich and the poor living together. These slums in the vicinity of posh apartment buildings don’t look good. It is estimated that 22 million people live in slums in Delhi.
It is so sad that both the center and state Government have failed to do anything for these people. The Government should make economy houses outside Delhi for these slum dwellers and shift them there. These people should also made financial independent.
Through the medium of your esteemed daily, I appeal to the Government to look into it and take some initiatives.
