My dear Robert

I’m glad to learn from your last letter that you are curious to know something about India. But since you say you can visit India only after one year, I meanwhile tell you something about this great country.

India is a very big country.

It is next only to China in population.

Most of Indians live in villages. But it also has big and flourishing cities like Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, etc.

There are lofty Himalayas in the north and the vast Indian Ocean in the south.

The world famous Taj Mahal is situated in Agra. There are many grand monuments in Delhi which is the Capital of India.

Indian people follow different religions but all of them love India and they are very amiable and hardworking.

Yours sincerely

Hi Vasundhara,

Heard that its snowing in Canada currently. Hope everything is well there. Happy to hear about your new job. Your hard work finally paid off. In the last letter you did ask me to consider Canada for new job opportunities and I did not respond positively. Hence,  in this letter I thought of mentioning the reasons I prefer living in India

  1. Having stayed in a tropical country like India and considering my health, any country with a cold climate would not be conducive for me. I have been accustomed to the Indian weather and this serves just right for my health conditions as well.
  2. You know I studied till my PHD here and I am gaining experience in my field here. If I move abroad, my education and experience that I received here might not be considered as equal there and I might have to start from scratch
  3. I have my family here and me being here is important for them. Moreover, even I cannot imagine myself being away from them after all  nothing can be compared to the warmth received from the family members.

These are some of the reasons I prefer living in India and these factors are to be considered if I were to take any decision on moving abroad. And I cannot thank you enough for referring me to your colleagues and seeking out opportunities for me there. I am indeed grateful for that. But as of now, for the above reasons I prefer continuing in India.

Regards,

Meghna Vasudeva
