Given:

You are given an element 'X' with atomic number 16 and mass number 32u.

To find:

The number of subatomic particles ?

Calculation:

In a neutral atom , the atomic number is equal to the number of protons which in turn is equal to the number of electrons.

So, since X has atomic number = 16 ,

 \boxed{ \sf \therefore \: no. \: of \:  {p}^{ + }  = no. \: of \:  {e}^{ - }  = 16}

Now , number denotes the total number of of neutrons and protons.

 \sf \therefore \:  {p}^{ + }  + n = 32

 \sf \implies\:  16  + n = 32

  \boxed{\sf \implies\:  n = 16}

So, number of neutrons is 16 , electrons is 16 and protons is 16.
