Water - the most crucial element for sustain-
ing life is also the most precious gift of nature. Water
affects all aspects of human life, From health and
sanitation to the food that we cat, from our envi-
ronment and ecosystems to the industry and en-
ergy that power our development. However, this
vital resource is under major threat because while
the quantity of water that we have has remained
constant for thousands of years, dynamics such as
population growth, urbanization and global wam-
ing has increased by leaps and bounds. Each of us
needs to take action immediately. We need to start
conserving water in all ways possible and imple-
ment many such measures that will limit the un-
wanted flow of this natural resource. The world
water vision report says. "There is a water crisis
today. But the crisis is not about having too little
water to satisfy oupneeds. It is a crisis of manag-
ing water so badly that bilions of people and the
environment suffer badly."
