Bablu has three sticks of lengths 3, 4 and 5 cm. Ramesh has three sticks of lengths 3, 5 and 9 cm. How many triangles can Bablu and Ramesh make with their sticks?

Answer:

Ramesh has three sticks of lengths of 3,5 and 9 cm. So , he can make a triangle. Also, There is only one triangle is possible with any given three sides. ∴ Bablu can make 1 triangle.

a) Bablu: 1, Ramesh: 0

A triangle can only be true if the sum of two sides are bigger than the other side.

Bablu- 3+4=7>5

           5+4=9>3

           5+3=8>4

Therefore it can be a proper triangle. But we can only make one triangle out of it .

Ramesh- 3+5=8<9

Therefore it is not a proper triangle we cannot even make one triangle out of it so 0.
