Babu starts from his house at certain time with a certain speed to pick up his girlfriend from office at 5 : 00 PM. One day his girlfriend left the office at 3 : 00 PM and starts walking to home with a speed of 40 km/hr and meet Babu in the way who left his home at his usual time. They reached home 40 min. Earlier than their usual time. find speed of babu​

Solution :-

→ Total time saved by them is = 40 minutes = From office to point where they meet and point to home.

so,

→ Time saved by b a b u = 40/2 = 20 minutes .

then,

→ B a b u meets his girl at = 5:00 - 20 minutes = 4:40PM .

now,

→ Girl walks for = 4:40 - 3:00 = 1:40 hours = 1(40/60) = 1(2/3) = (5/3) hours.

and,

→ Speed of girl is given as = 40 km/h .

then,

→ Distance covered by girl = S * T = 40 * (5/3) = (200/3) km .

therefore,

→ Speed of B a b u = Distance covered by girl / Time saved by b a b u = (200/3) / (20/60) = (200/3) * (3/1) = 200 km/h (Ans.)
