There are some symbiotic bacteria present in the caecum of ruminants. Caecum is a part of large intestine which is accmulated with plant matter. These symbionts helps in the digestion of this plant matter which is mainly cellulose based and in return obtain energy from the host. These enzymes contain cellulase enzyme which breakdown the celluose content.
