Bacteria can not synthesise their own food because they do not contain chlorophyll in them like plants do and thus they depend on other sources for their food.

Bacterias don't contain chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll is necessary for the synthesis of food.

Therefore they can't make their own food and eat other smaller microorganisms
