bacteria do not have chloroplast but some bacteria are photoautotrophic in nature and perform photosynthesis which part of bacterial cell perform this.

Plants do the photosynthesis with the help of chlorophyll. Bacteria also contain a similar compound called bacteriochlorophyll, which allows the bacteria to perform photosynthesis for food.

the photosynthetic pigment or thylakoids are present in cytoplasm of bacterial cell which is responsible for photosynthesis .
