Explanation:
There are two types of unicellular organism that are : Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes. The bacterial cell is a prokaryotic cell and is considered to be one of the ancient organism ever on Earth.
Now Let's discuss the reasons that Why they are considered to be prokaryotic in nature?
- They don't have nuclear membrane and the genetic material floats in the cytoplasm as it as forming a nuclear region known as 'Nucleoid'.
- DNA floats freely on the cytoplasm.
- They don't have membrane bound organelles like Mitochondria, Golgi bodies etc.
- A modified structure on the plasma membrane knowns as 'Mesosome' helps in respiration.
- They adapt other ways to carry out various cellular activities like nutrition, excretion etc.
- The ribosomes is of 70S (Unit : 50S and 30S)
✏️ Refer to the attachment..
Whereas Eukaryotic cells are more advanced than the prokaryotic cells. The nucleus have nuclear membrane and the DNA is inside it. They also possess membrane bound organelles. They have 80S ribosomes.
And we are done !!
