Answer :

Total Number of balls = 5+8+4+7 = (24)

(i) Not a Green balls means, 5+8+7 = (20)

= 20/24

(ii) Red balls = 5/24

White balls = 8/24

Hope it helps.....

Answer:

\boxed{Answers\:\: are\:\: i) 5/6(0.8)\: \:and \:\:ii) 13/24(0.52)}

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN

A bag contains :- 5 red balls, 8 white balls, 4 green balls and 7 black balls.

To find Probablity of

i) Getting a non-Green ball when a ball is drawn at random

ii) Red or White balls

Answer

Total Number of balls = 5 red balls + 8 white balls + 4 green balls +  7 black balls = 24 balls.

i) Probablity of getting a non-green ball

Number of Non green balls = 5 red balls + 8 white balls +  7 black balls = 20 balls.

We know that Probablity of an event = Number of favourable outcomes

                                                                 Total Number of outcomes

                                                                = 20

                                                                   24

                                                               =5/6 = 0.83

ii) Probablity of getting a Red or White ball

Number of White balls+ Red balls = 8+5 = 13 balls

Probablity = Number of favourable outcomes

                        Total Number of outcomes

Probablity of getting a Red or White ball  = 13

                                                                        24

                                                                     = 0.54
