Given that:

  • Baichung’s father is 26 years younger than Baichung’s grandfather and 29 years older than Baichung.
  • The sum of the ages of all the three is 135 years.

To Find:

  • What is the age of each one of them?

Let us assume:

  • Baichung’s age be x.
  • Baichung’s father age = x + 29
  • Baichung’s grandfather age = x + 29 + 26

Finding the age of each one of them:

According to the question.

⟶ x + x + 29 + x + 29 + 26 = 135

⟶ 3x + 84 = 135

⟶ 3x = 135 - 84

⟶ 3x = 51

⟶ x = 51/3

⟶ x = 17

Hence,

  1. Baichung’s age = x = 17 years
  2. Baichung’s father age = x + 29 = 17 + 29 = 46 years
  3. Baichung’s grandfather age = x + 29 + 26 = 17 + 29 + 26 = 72 years

Given :-

Baichung’s father is 26 years younger than Baichung’s grandfather and 29 years older than Baichung. The sum of the ages of all the three is 135 years.

To Find :-

Age of each

Solution :-

Let the age of Baichung be B

Age of father = B + 26

Age of grandfather = B + 26 + 29

Age of grandfather = B + 55

Now

(B) + (B + 26) + (B + 55) = 135

3B + 81 = 135

3B = 135 - 81

3B = 54

B = 54/3

B = 18

Now

Age of Baichung = 18 years

Age of his father = 18 + 26 = 44 years

Age of grandfather = 18 + 55 = 73 years
