Baking powder is used for baking a cake. If
your mother uses baking soda instead of
baking powder in cake:
(A) How will it affect the taste of the cake and
why?
(B) How can baking soda be converted into
baking powder?
(C) What is the role of tartaric acid added to

a. If we use baking soda instead of baking powder,then: Both the substances has different ingredients which means using the wrong ingredient can change the taste.So usually we prefer to use baking powder in cakes because when we use baking soda for the same then there is bitterness in the item

b. if we had a mild, edible base such as tartaric acid which is present in tamarind (imli) , it can make baking powder out of baking soda by just adding tartaric acid to baking soda.

c. tartaric acid neutralizes baking soda as tartaric acid is a mild, edible acid and baking soda is a mild ,edible base.
